'Tónandi' on Magic Leap was an immersive audio-visual experience by Sigur Rós. It blended their ethereal music with spatial augmented reality, creating a dynamic, evolving world of light and sound that reacted to the user's presence and movements.
Experience
Users explored a responsive, dreamlike world where Sigur Rós's music manifested as evolving light and sound, called Tonandi - ‘Sound Spirits.’. Their movements and presence shaped this dynamic, spatial audio-visual environment. As part of Magic Leap Studios, we were involved in initial concepting and narrative design, working closely with the band and lead-developers, Stephen Mangiat and Mike Tucker.

"The Tónandi experience is more like hiking or scuba-diving in your house while also being surrounded by supernatural beings. It's appealingly disorienting. By the end, orchestration is sizzling—I can almost feel it—through my fingertips." - Marc Hogan (Pitchfork)
"As multimedia art projects go, Tónandi is pretty amazing stuff—an interactive audiovisual experience that makes you feel like you're inside Sigur Rós's otherworldly music..." - FLOOD Magazine
