The Royal Shakespeare Company's "Seven Ages of Man" on Magic Leap brought Shakespeare's monologue to life in a Mixed Reality experience. The performance used cutting-edge volumetric capture and an original musical score. The experience allows users to explore the speech in a 3D environment, blending virtual theatre with your real environment for an immersive and intimate experience.
Experience
The production used mixed reality technology, to allow users to experience the speech in a virtual environment alongside their real surroundings. The actor, Robert Gilbert, was captured in 3D using volumetric capture, creating a lifelike and immersive performance. BAFTA-winning composer, Jessica Curry, created an original musical score for the production. We collaborated with the RSC’s Artistic Director, Gregory Doran, on Creative Direction, Design and oversaw the entire production.
Impact
The Seven Ages of Man was showcased at events around the world including Sundance ‘New Frontier’ and as part of the Arts Council of England’s program at SxSW in 2019.
